Silesky-Minnesota Wedding-August 26, 2017
I originally met Greg and Carie at Steffen and Amanda’s wedding that I photographed in 2016. Carie was a bridesmaid and so so sweet. When she reached out to me about traveling to Minnesota to photograph their wedding, I was absolutely thrilled! Throughout us chatting wedding details, Carie informed me everything would be at their home and that Greg and her had spent a lot of time preparing the yard for the festivities. The time and dedication that these two spend getting ready for their nearest and dearest to enjoy truly warms your heart. Those two things hold true and are just as evident in their relationship. Wait until you see the photos of the details and flower gardens! To top it off they have a beautiful willow tree right along the little creek that runs along their back yard. After doing getting ready photos at the hotel, we ventured off to Centennial Lakes Park for their first look and photos with the wedding party. This park had everything you could dream of for endless photo opportunities-bridges, water, ivy walls, pathways, it goes on and on. The weather was a little misty most of the time we were there but everyone was prepared with umbrellas and didn’t mind walking through the park one bit. The photos were most definitely worth it! Once we wrapped up at the park we took the short drive to the soon to be newlywed’s home for family photos before the ceremony. Carie’s nephew walked her down the aisle to start things off and there were so many special touches throughout. The gorgeously decorated white tent was the perfect reception set up for the back yard and everyone enjoyed themselves during cocktail hour and dinner. After the dances were kicked off, we snuck away back to the willow tree for some nighttime photos that had me swooning! What a way to end a fantastic wedding!

Carie Silesky - I cannot express how thankful I am of A Thousand Words Photography. When I first met Rachel, I knew I would love to have her capture our special day. I thought that her being based out of Poynette Wisconsin was going to be to big of a problem , but this was not the case, Rachel was so excited to adventure to Minnesota , she was flexible, understanding and listened to all my ideas !
I was worried about having our wedding in our backyard, was not sure if others would see our place like we do. For us , our yard is the place to relax , hang out with friends and family and express our love for nature with making our yard a magical place. We love spending time, planting flowers, taking care of the yard, playing with our dog by the creek. I was so excited that A Thousand Words Photography was able to capture what we love the most !
A shout out to Centennial Lakes Park for beautiful flowers, bridges and fabulous atmosphere for our engagement pictures. Rachel's face lite up when she saw all the different photo opportunities, the endless spots throughout the park made it easy to get perfect photos !
Thank you Rachel for traveling to Minnesota and making our day special !
